CREATIVE MOVEMENT FOR BABIES (ages 6 WEEKS - pre-mobile)

One of the few classes you'll find that combines developmentally sound learning through creative movement for younger babies AND gentle exercise for the caregiver!

This unique class provides a concept-based learning approach as well as a Developmental Movement overview, giving caregivers a new perspective on their wonderful new addition. This is a perfect class for a new mom or dad, providing her/him with time for self-care and fun while baby plays and learns.

Creative Movement for Babies focuses on enjoyable and appropriate movement for building younger babies' bodies and brains. Dancing with your baby to a wide variety of music, you will learn how movement and play enhance baby's neurological, emotional and physical development. Meeting other parents and caregivers gives you an opportunity to socialize as you and your little one move and groove!

Each week we explore making shapes, play with a new learning concept, make music with different musical instruments, dance to new kinds of rhythms and meet new friends. While we're having fun, the instructor addresses some of the physical, social and neurological developmental milestones of the littlest dancers, and discusses how movement supports healthy, integrated growth. You'll learn fun and easy activities, songs and exercises you can do at home to enhance your child's cognitive, emotional and intellectual development. Teacher provides weekly take-home handouts with songs, rhymes, playtime ideas and early childhood development information. Nannies and daycare providers are always welcome.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT FOR OLDER BABIES AND TODDLERS
(Great for mobile babies to 2 ½ year olds)

There aren't too many indoor activities for a little crawler in the wintertime. The playground's too cold and many classes are for bigger or younger kids, not the "tweens", who are mobile but not quite walking. So, come enjoy this interactive, developmentally appropriate, structured AND fun class that provides older babies and toddlers with new tools for cognitive, emotional and social learning and growth while giving their care providers an opportunity for a little playtime, socializing, exercise and relaxation!

Interactive and engaging, this class is especially designed for children who are mobile, 'cruising', or, walking with some assist, to seasoned walkers (and runners!) up to 2 1/2 years! Older babies and toddlers learn new skills from each other and their caregivers, enjoy new ways of moving together and build some of their first little friendships in this warm, playful environment!

Children learn best when they're engaged and playing, and in this setting they can explore new ways of looking at things, tackle new ideas and concepts and express themselves as they be-bop with you to fun tunes and games. Dancing together with your child while exploring movement activities, singing songs and rhymes, practicing skills and being super-silly is not only lots of fun but educational. A wide variety of music, props and rhythm instruments add to the fun and learning. Teacher provides weekly take-home handouts with songs, rhymes, playtime ideas and developmental information. Nannies and daycare providers are always welcome.
